Our Story
Meet Reuben
Born and raised in Mto wa Mbu, Reuben grew up closely connected to the land he calls home. As a child, he learned through Maasai community life, livestock herding, animal behaviour, weather, and the landscapes around him. That early connection shaped the guide he would become.
Since 2008, Reuben has worked with several safari companies across Tanzania, building his experience as a professional guide and sharing his knowledge of wildlife, landscapes, plants, and Maasai culture with travellers from around the world.
But over time, Reuben wanted to build something of his own.
He created Nasila Safaris as a locally owned safari company shaped by personal guiding, local knowledge, and a deeper connection to the communities and places behind each journey. Every Nasila safari is private, carefully planned, and led by people who know this land as home.
But Nasila was never only about safaris.
From the work of safari, Reuben started Ewang’an School — a community-built education project providing free schooling for local children. Today, every trip with Nasila helps support the school directly, connecting each journey to something that continues long after the game drives end.
