Northern Circuit

OVERVIEW

A Journey Rooted in Land, Story, and Soul

This is northern Tanzania at its own pace. From the open plains of the Serengeti to the baobab valleys of Tarangire, the escarpments above Lake Manyara, and the vast, quiet floor of Ngorongoro Crater—this is a landscape that’s alive with movement, rhythm, and history.

You’ll also travel to Lake Eyasi, where the Hadzabe bushmen live much as they always have—off the land, in step with nature. Time spent here offers a rare and grounding perspective on what it means to live with the land, not just on it.

This isn’t about ticking off sightings. It’s about slowing down, listening in, and connecting—with people, place, and the wild heart of Tanzania.

ACCOMODATION STYLE

Tarangire

ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA

You’ll be met at the airport by someone from our local team—a familiar face who knows this land well. From there, it’s a gentle start to your journey.

There’s time to settle in, catch your breath, and enjoy a good meal. Your guide will walk you through what lies ahead. No rush, no fuss—just a warm welcome and space to arrive.

DAY 1

After breakfast, your guide meets you and the journey begins. The road to Tarangire winds through villages and open country, offering time to ease in and take in the shifting landscape.

By afternoon, you’re inside the park—elephants moving through tall grass, baobabs rising from the earth like ancient guardians. You’ll head out on your first game drive, finding your rhythm in the wild.

DAY 2

Today is all about exploring Tarangire. With your guide by your side, the day is shaped around what you’re most keen to experience—whether that’s following a herd of elephants, spotting birdlife in the river valleys, or simply pausing in quiet places that few others reach.

There’s no set schedule here. Just time to tune in and let the landscape lead.

Lake Manyara

DAY 3

After breakfast, you’ll set off on a game drive as you make your way toward Lake Manyara—your next stop in the journey.

Tucked beneath the Rift Valley escarpment, Manyara is a park of contrasts. Open plains give way to groundwater forests, and the lake itself shimmers with birdlife. Keep an eye out for tree-climbing lions, big elephant herds, and the sweep of pink flamingos along the shoreline.

By evening, you’ll settle into camp with the sounds of the valley all around.

Serengeti National Park

DAYS 4 - 9

The days ahead take you deep into the Serengeti—through northern riverbanks, open central plains, and the southern grasslands where new life begins. Each region moves to its own rhythm. As the seasons shift, so does the wildlife—restless, instinctive, always on the move.

This is where the Great Migration unfolds. Wildebeest and zebra follow the rains—crossing rivers, calving in the south, grazing fresh grass, then moving on. You might see a dramatic crossing or the quiet wonder of a newborn calf. No two days are the same.

Mornings start early—coffee in hand, the bush waking around you. Game drives follow what the day offers: tracks, birdsong, a shift in the wind. Some days move fast, others invite stillness. Meals are simple, generous, and shared in camp or out in the wild.

In the evenings, your guide will talk through what’s next—shaped by your interests and what the land is doing.

Each day brings something new. Each one leaves its mark.

Ngorogoro Crater

DAY 10

After breakfast, you’ll head toward the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, where the land drops away into an ancient, self-contained world.

A slow descent takes you to the crater floor—grasslands, forest, and soda lakes all tucked within steep volcanic walls. Wildlife is everywhere. Lions and hyenas move across the open plains. Wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle graze nearby. And if the day goes your way, you might spot a black rhino in the distance or a leopard slipping through the trees.

It’s one of the few places where so much life gathers in one place—and still, it feels wild, quiet, and unchanged by time.

Lake Eyasi

DAY 11

After breakfast, you’ll travel toward the shores of Lake Eyasi, where the landscape opens wide and the pace of life slows. This is home to the Hadzabe—one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in East Africa.

Time here isn’t about watching, but sharing. You’ll learn through quiet moments—making fire, gathering food, listening to stories, and moving with the rhythm of daily life. No rush. No performance. Just the chance to witness a way of living shaped entirely by the land.

You’ll return to camp with more than stories. You’ll return with perspective.

DAY 12

After breakfast, you’ll depart with a packed lunch and make your way to the Manyara airstrip. From there, you’ll catch your flight back to Arusha’s international airport, with the journey still fresh in mind.
